The McClellan Architects studio has envisioned the Lake House 2 as an uncluttered temple of relaxation and well-being. The construction was pretty challenging, due to the tricky landscape (very steep). The view is absolutely breathtaking – this actually made the architects realise the advantage of such an environment and as a consequence, they created a series of patios and spaces, that focus more on establishing a connection with nature. The inhabitants can enjoy stunning...
Apartment Therapy shows a really interesting bathroom design where a bench on an outer wall extends right through the glass into the walk-in shower. Another great and simple example of a shower with a bench (again from Carla Aston) makes use of wood material for both the bench and flooring. You may not have a ton of room for a full-sized bench, so a corner built-in might work instead. This one featured on Angie’s List looks great in this smaller shower! Another from BHG highlights the top of the bench with white.
Apaiser is a great source for luxury round stone tubs, such as the Eclipse Stone Bathtub shown below. In fact, Apaiser tubs are perfect for spaces that showcase building materials such as stone and tile. Soft edges are a highlight of this piece, and it’s also available in a range of hues and materials. Keep in mind that when it comes to the modern powder room, a round tub has the power to soften the bold lines of the space. Yet you don’t have to play it safe with the bathtub, as shown below by a bold selection in black, a Caroma product purchased from Reece.
If you believe that green does not work in a trendy and minimal contemporary bedroom, then think again! A green accent wall is easy to shape and it brings that much needed warmth to an otherwise cool and mundane interior. Just repeat the color in the room using vivacious bedding, accessories, nightstands or even a couple of lovely vases and you have an inviting bedroom that is both energetic and relaxing. Those who feel that an accent wall in green or décor are not your thing can still add the color by placing a couple of potted plants to fill up those empty corners. It is an easy, eco-friendly and healthy choice to turn to that will instantly alter the mood in the bedroom.
There’s a dash of tropical style in this bathroom, thanks to deck-like flooring, a view of palms, and a tub that mirrors the round shape of a porthole-style window in the distance. This luxe bathroom is filled with glamorous details, such as a plush rug and Mirror Ball pendant lighting. A round tub and two round basins complete the look.
Adding green to the bedroom is easy if you already have a muted color scheme going in the room. It is a color that works beautifully with the likes of white, gray and even brown. While the yellowy-greens add warmth to the bedroom, the blue-tinged variants bring a touch of coolness along with a vibrant ambiance. Here is a pick of 25 gorgeous bedrooms that incorporate green in a gorgeous fashion.

Betting on the integration of natural elements, their intention was to create a breezy indoor gateway. The living room area displays an amazingly high ceiling, providing more space. Parts of the walls are replaced with glass, creating...
